Your book may never find itself in a bestseller list. After a while, you will sell more copies than the books that have got into a bestseller list. Authors aim to become outstanding, but writing useful and readable books is an effective investment, if you are aiming for longevity. To my mind longevity is the best sign of book’s success. So, first of all, you should make this to be your goal.
